When we finally get pregnant, we'll appreciate it

It is pretty tough when you are having a hard time getting pregnant and you hear people who are pregnant and all they do is complain. Often my wife and I will talk to a couple we know who is pregnant and they just whine! She complains about morning sickness and about how tired she always is. He bitches about how ornery she is and what a pain it is to put up with her all the time. Now obviously I can't predict the future, so I can't say exactly how my wife and I will act when we finally get pregnant. My guess is, however, that because we have had a hard time trying to conceive, we will be pretty damn appreciative when it finally happens. We have already agreed that we definitely won't complain around other people. Now I am sure my wife will tell me how it sucks to be sick and I will probably tell her when she is being a pain in the ass...yeah right, who am I kidding, I will never tell her that because I have heard there is nothing worse than pissing off a pregnant woman, and I believe it!

Hi, I've been reading your blog for a while now. It's nice to have a husband's perspective on the whole TTC issue. So thanks!

I totally know what you mean about hearing others complain. A co-worker of mine is just newly pregnant and we've been trying together for a year now. I'm happy for her, but last week when she started whining about being tired and nauseous, I just told her I'd happily trade places with er. That shut her up pretty quick! But I have one son already so I know what morning sickness hell can be like - I threw up daily for five months and it was pure hell, but I'd NEVER complain to other couples who were trying to have what I had... anyways, just my two cents!

ps - love your cartoon drawings!

Amen to that! It took us a long time and we had 6 babies born before we ever go pregnant and almost every single one was unappreciative and complaining all the time! From experience, (I'm 14 weeks), you will appreciate every single second!
Good luck! Can't wait to know when you are in the 2 week wait!! I wanna see that BFP!
